The fight to control Coronavirus upped a notch in 2020 with the refurbishment and instillation 84 extra beds in the former Peter Mac Victorian Cancer Centre Hospital. Ready to be used a part of our Coronavirus defence if needed, the project required a speedy and precise turnaround under extreme deadlines. We worked 7 days a week day and night shifts to ensure all hospital rooms had the necessary facilities to fight the pandemic.

Challenges

Complexities

Having to test plumbing work already installed that hadn’t been used for 15 years and determining if it was ok to keep or replace with new, working in building with no crane or large lifts to take plant and equipment up multiple levels to plant room.

Solution

Design specific items that could be taken in small lifts or carried upstairs to position.
